Auction Market Preview - 8 May 2022

Auction volumes are down -22.6% week-on-week with 2,088 homes currently scheduled for auction across the combined capital cities.

Auction volumes are down -22.6% week-on-week with 2,088 homes currently scheduled for auction across the combined capital cities this week, compared to 2,699 over the previous week and 3,016 this time last year.

In Melbourne, 879 homes are scheduled for auction this week, down -31.9% from the previous week (1,290) and -37.7% from this time last year (1,411).

Sydney is set to host 702 auctions this week, down -23.2% from the 914 auctions held over the previous week. Over the same week last year, 1,146 auctions were held across the city.

Across the smaller capital cities, Adelaide is set to host 214 auctions this week, up from 149 over the previous week, while Brisbane is expecting to see 189 homes go up for auction over the week, similar to the previous week when 186 auctions were held across the city. In Canberra, 87 auctions are scheduled this week, down from 143 over the previous week, while there are 12 auctions scheduled in Perth and five in Tasmania.
